The Art of Breathing

Remember:

1) Make sure you are in the proper standing position at all times.

2) Make sure you are using the proper technique in breathing, using your abdomen, and not your chest, to inhale and exhale. Also, keep your anus tightened — you are trying to gain complete control over the input and output of your breath, so don't let air "leak out" unconsciously by relaxing your anus.

3) Make sure you are inhaling through the nose and using your mouth to exhale.

4) Make sure your breathing is rhythmical. After holding your breath, exhalation should be two times (or four times, or eight times, etc.) that of your inhalation.

5) Work towards exhaling slower and slower and quieter and quieter. Don't rush, and don't make a lot of noise as you breathe out. Also make sure you maintain the abdominal movement. Don't just "relax" your muscles and let the air leak out. Maintain your conscious control.

6) Concentrate and Focus on your breathing only! Don't be distracted by other things.

7) Practice twice a day, every day, at least ten minutes per session.
