1. The Reverse Breathing Exercise

Step 1: Stand in the proper standing position as described in Chapter IV.

Step 2: Place your palms on your abdomen just as you would for Abdominal Breathing.

Step 3: Now inhale through your nose by pushing your lower abdomen in (not out, as in Abdominal Breathing). This should cause the air to fill up your chest. (You should be able to feel your palms going inward along with your abdomen, and you should feel your chest pushing out). Count in your mind how many counts it takes you to inhale fully. (Fig. 8)
